Context length determines how much text is sent to the AI model to generate the next action in an AI Dungeon Adventure. When you take an action, your Adventure text is combined with any information stored in the AI Instructions, Story Summary, Plot Essentials, Author’s Notes, and relevant Story Cards.

There are multiple text and image models available in AI Dungeon. Basic models are available for Wanderer and Traveler tiers. Premium models are available for all subscribers. Free users get daily actions from the Premium promo model. Ultra Models are available for Legend and Mythic tiers.

The new context lengths are aligned with each tier. Legend and Mythic players can also use up to 128k context length for GPT-4 Turbo by spending 1 Credit per action for every 250 tokens of context (Mythic includes unlimited actions on GPT-4 Turbo with 1k tokens as part of the subscription).
